About The RISC Global Cafe Bar

The Global Cafe-Bar is independently owned by a Reading based education charity, RISC, (Reading International Solidarity Centre). The cafe offers the people of Reading & beyond, something totally unique. It's probably the only cafe-bar outside of London that offers their customers an ethical night out, er, and day. Whether your tipple is a brilliant Fair Trade cappuccino, an organic locally brewed beer, bottled beers from around the World, organic spirits (we sell the most organic vodka in the UK!), Fair Trade and organic wine or one of the many organic juices or soft drinks, add to that the only place where you can eat authentic Ethiopian food, plus organic baguettes, jackets potatos and heart warming soups, all made on the premises by Tutu and her team, it's here waiting for you. But we don't offer just great food and drinks, we give you quiz night, bloody brilliant djs and bands that will blow your socks off. If that wasn't enough we also have relevant exhibitions in the cafe. The cafe team and our brilliant customers make the Global the buzzing place it is.
